At the initial exam, we will take facial and intraoral photos and x-rays if needed. One of our orthodontists will perform an exam and discuss your child’s eruption and development and explain if orthodontic treatment is necessary.
If treatment is recommended, we will walk you through the process of getting started! Our treatment coordinator will discuss all financial options and explain your orthodontic insurance benefit.
If no treatment is indicated at the time, your child will be placed into our observation program and will be seen every 6 months to monitor your child’s orthodontic needs as they develop into adolescence.

Benefits of Early Orthodontic Consultation
Early orthodontic consultation can help identify any potential issues with your child's bite or alignment at an early age. By seeing an orthodontist early on, you can start planning for any necessary treatment and avoid any potential complications in the future.
Additionally, early intervention can often lead to shorter treatment times and less invasive procedures. By addressing orthodontic issues early, you can help your child achieve a healthy and beautiful smile with minimal discomfort and inconvenience.
Signs That Your Child May Need Orthodontic Treatment
There are several signs that may indicate that your child could benefit from orthodontic treatment. These include crowded or crooked teeth, difficulty biting or chewing, thumb sucking beyond the age of 5, and early loss of baby teeth or late eruption of permanent teeth. If you notice any of these issues, it may be time to schedule a consultation with an orthodontist.
It's important to remember that every child is different, and not all children will need orthodontic treatment. However, if you have any concerns about your child's oral health or development, it's always a good idea to consult with an orthodontist to discuss your options.
