Most children can receive dental treatment in the typical office setting; however, some patients may benefit from their dental treatment being completed while under general anesthesia in a hospital setting, or with in-office IV sedation.
The benefits of hospital and sedation dentistry allow a child who may be unable, unwilling, or afraid to have necessary dental treatment undergo the procedure without feeling fear, stress, anxiety, or pain. All of our pediatric dentists are on staff at Baptist East Hospital and are trained and experienced in performing dental treatment on patients under general anesthesia.
Dr. Jeff Plagenhoe, a board-certified pediatric anesthesiologist from Pediatric Dental Anesthesia Associates, works with our pediatric dentists so that we are able to offer in-office IV sedation in the safest environment possible.
We aim to help every child have a good experience and look forward to their dental visits for years to come. Hospital and sedation dentistry are two options that we provide to do just that.
